Smith commits to Buddies

St Mirren goalkeeper Chris Smith has pledged his future to the club by agreeing a new three-and-a-half-year contract with Gus MacPherson's side.

The Scotland Under-21 goalkeeper's previous contract was due to expire at the end of this season.

The Glasgow-born shot-stopper has spent the whole of his career with the Buddies, making his debut in the 1-0 win against Ross County in April 2005.

He has been a regular in MacPherson's starting line-up this term and has now made 76 first-team appearances for the club.
