Saints seal Wyness swoop

St Mirren have confirmed that they have completed the signing of experienced striker Dennis Wyness from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The 31-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with the Buddies, with the Highlanders having put talks over a new deal on hold until the end of the season.

Wyness has enjoyed two spells with Inverness during his career, with a stint at hearts sandwiched in between.

Meanwhile, Buddies boss Gus MacPherson was not too disappointed, despite seeing his side's season end with a 3-0 home defeat by Rangers.

He said: "The most important thing was their pride because that is what they were going to be judged on.

"The game plan goes out the window when you lose an early goal and then the second one goes in and you're worried. But I couldn't question the players' commitment."
