Mehmet takes the plaudits

St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson was full of praise for striker Billy Mehmet following his winning goal in the 1-0 Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final win over Hearts.
Mehmet has scored 12 goals in all competitions so far this season, although only two of his strikes have come in the SPL.
However, MacPherson is unconcerned by that statistic for the time being, saying: "It was a goal worthy of winning any game. He is capable of that in the cups, it's just the league he can't do it.
"He is technically a very good striker. He missed a very good chance on Saturday against Hibs when he probably would have been better putting the front of his foot through it.
"But he always tries to show composure and pass it in and he has done it again. It was a fantastic finish."
