Striker Billy Mehmet has agreed a new contract extension at St Mirren which will see him stay at Love Street until 2010.
The 24-year-old hitman has found the back of the net six times this season, which has seen him be rewarded with a new deal.
Mehmet said: "Obviously I am delighted to have signed a new deal for the next two-and-a-half years. It gives me security but I was happy to sign it because this is a club I enjoy playing for."
Mehmet endured a slow start to life at Love Street after moving to the Buddies in 2005 from Dunfermline, mainly due to illness and injury.
"I feel that this season has been my best for the club. I've enjoyed a good run in the side and I've got a decent tally of goals," the forward added.
"I believe this club is going to go onto better things and I want to be part of it."
Mehmet started his career as a trainee with Premier League side West ham United before Dunfermline snapped him up in May 2003.
