St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson hailed the performance of veteran goalkeeper Tony Bullock in the 2-0 CIS Insurance Cup defeat at Celtic.

The 34-year-old was out of favour in the early weeks of the campaign, but has started the last three games and impressed on his latest outing.

MacPherson said: "Tony was outstanding. He was disappointed not to be playing at the start of the season because he is an experienced professional.

"But, since he came in against Hearts, he has been very good and has grasped his opportunity."

Bullock joined the Buddies in January from English League One side Gillingham.
