Mac hails battling Buddies

St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson hailed the fighting spirit of his players after they battled back to earn a 1-1 Scottish Cup quarter-final draw at St Johnstone.
Andy Dorman rescued the Buddies with an equaliser 17 minutes from time at McDiarmid Park and MacPherson was impressed by the way his players reacted to going behind to the first division outfit.
He said afterwards: "We were in a tough game and we know we're going to get another one at Love Street. We'd like to get to a semi-final and that's the incentive for both clubs.
"The players take criticism at times, but you also have to give them praise when it's deserved.
"They were out of the cup, but they showed terrific character and spirit in the manner of their second-half performance, where they went and put St Johnstone under pressure."
