St Mirren manager Gus MacPherson was not too concerned with his side's performance after they secured a 1-0 win at home to Aberdeen to move up to seventh place in the SPL table.
A Chris Innes strike settled the issue at St Mirren Park, with the Buddies now having won their last three games in all competitions.
MacPherson said: "With so many managers losing their jobs, it is all about getting results. It's well documented how well we played at the start of the season and didn't pick up any points.
"The last two games at home have been really scrappy affairs, but that is a lot to do with the condition of the pitch.
"It was always going to be a set-piece or mistake that won the game and it came our way this time, as it did against Kilmarnock, from a corner.
"I would rather win playing free-flowing, expansive football but that's not going to happen on that pitch. We'll take the win, they are precious in this division and hard-earned."
