Injury setbacks bother Smith

St Mirren goalkeeper Chris Smith is looking forward to the end of 2009 after enduring an injury-ruined 12 months.
The 23-year-old recently returned to action following knee surgery, but a loan spell at Dunfermline Athletic was cut short by a stress fracture to his right foot.
Smith told the Daily Record: "I get back playing and suffer another injury. I was really enjoying my loan spell at Dunfermline, but after just three games I'm out again.
"This year has been a wipeout. I got back into the St Mirren team in February, played six games then did my cruciate.
"I did my rehab, came back quicker than expected and went out on loan because I needed games. But once I started to play I was injured again."
