Howard welcomes deal talks

St Mirren goalkeeper Mark Howard has opened new contract talks with the Buddies.

The 22-year-old's current deal expires at the end of this season but he would welcome the chance to extend his stay with the club.

He said: "I'm really enjoying my time here and, as long as I'm playing games, I'm happy.

"We're trying to agree a contract at the moment and they said they'll keep me posted. Talks are ongoing - very much so."
