St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson claimed the fans were right to boo his side off after Wednesday's goalless draw with already relegated Gretna.
The two bottom clubs in the SPL produced a lacklustre match in front of just 751 fans at Fir Park and afterwards MacPherson joined in the criticism of his side.
Speaking about the fans' negative reaction, he said: "I totally understand that.
"We gave them a lot of praise after Saturday's performance against Hibs, but they were a shadow of the team that played at Easter Road.
"The strange thing is we took nothing from Easter Road and got a point there after a performance like that.
"The disappointing thing is the younger players' confidence will take a dent from that."
