Gowser gets a gong
Published: 12 Jan 2012 - 19:17:54
Paul McGowan has been named the SPL's player of the month after a series of stunning displays during December. The forward is the first Buddie to win the prize in nearly three years.
The former Celtic man has been a revelation since joining the club permanently in the summer, scoring braces against Hibs and Kilmarnock. However, in December he really caught the eye thanks to a terrific performance against Rangers - playing in Aaron Mooy for our equaliser and then scoring the winner himself.
McGowan is being watched by teams down south and Saints boss Danny Lennon reckons he should get a Scotland call-up so today's award will only help him on both counts.
The last Saint to win the player of the month prie was Andy Dorman, who was presented with it in April 2009.
