    Dorman thankful to Saints

    30 Apr 2009 - 09:13:00

St Mirren midfielder Andy Dorman says he would be happy to stay with the club next season, despite talk of interest from both Old Firm clubs.

The 26-year-old Englishman was speaking after being named as the SPL Player of the Month for April, having taken his tally to 16 goals in 60 games for the Saints since his arrival from New England Revolution in January 2008.

Dorman said: "I definitely feel gratitude to St Mirren. They were the people who took the risk on me. Between the manager, chairman and everyone else at the club, I owe them quite a lot.

"I'd be happy to stay at St Mirren, but first we have some important games coming up that I want to concentrate on.

"It was a case of coming back over and trying my luck. I watched European games every week when I was in America and I wanted to be part of it.

"St Mirren were the first club willing to take a chance on me, so it was a case of coming over and seeing how I did. Things have gone well and I'm happy."
