Dargo upbeat over injury

St Mirren striker Craig Dargo is desperate to make a return from injury before the end of the year, having seen the start of his Buddies career ruined by injury.

The 29-year-old has yet to feature for Saints due to a hamstring problem, but Dargo is adamant that he is closing in on a return.

He told the Paisley Daily Express: "I'm definitely looking to try to get involved before the end of the year as it would be the best Christmas present for me.

"I'm doing a lot of running, twisting and turning now and, if there is no reaction to that, then I can step things up. Next week, I hope to be back kicking a ball again.

"I'm taking each day as it comes, because I've been at this stage before only to suffer disappointing setbacks.

"I've been impatient and tried to come back too quickly in the past few months and then I've broken down just before I went back to full training."
