Dargo takes Buddies plaudits

St Mirren striker Craig Dargo won praise from manager Gus MacPherson after his goal secured a crucial 1-0 win at home to Hamilton Academical.

Dargo's first SPL strike of the season moved the Buddies seven points clear of the bottom of the table.

MacPherson said: "He's been a wee bit unfortunate because he came in at Ibrox and he and Dennis Wyness played for 30 minutes together and did really well.

"He did the same in the next couple of games but then picked up an injury and at that time we went to Falkirk and won with both strikers, Jim Hamilton and Dennis Wyness, scoring.

"Craig can count himself slightly unfortunate that he's been out of the team, but his attitude has been outstanding.

"It's probably been a difficult spell for him, but that impact is what you're looking for if you make a change in the game."
