    Dargo pleased to end drought

    01 Apr 2008 - 07:40:00

St Mirren striker Craig Dargo was delighted to get off the mark for the Buddies after finding the net in the 2-0 weekend win over stricken Gretna.

The 30-year-old took 14 games to break his Saints duck, having seen his first season at Love Street hampered by injury problems.

Dargo said: "I suppose it is a bit of a relief to get the goal. My all-round play has been quite decent, but it's nice to score.

"I'm delighted with the result, it gives us a good platform to build on the rest of the season.

"It also took me a wee while to get my first goal at Caley Thistle, but then when I got off the mark I scored 35 goals in 50-odd games or so."

Former Kilmarnock and Raith Rovers frontman Dargo netted 32 goals in 67 games for Inverness before his summer move away from the Highlands.
