Dargo desperate for chance
17 Oct 2008 - 12:43:15
St Mirren striker Craig Dargo hopes to get his Love Street career back on track by making a return to first-team action.
The 30-year-old former Kilmarnock and Inverness Caledonian Thistle forward has started only one game for the Buddies so far this season but could have the chance to return to first team as an injury crisis has restricted boss Gus MacPherson's options.
Jim Hamilton and Tom Brighton are currently sidelined, and Dargo told the Paisley Express: "All I can do is try to play my best and hopefully give the manager some food for thought.
"Every player will tell you that they need a run of games and I'm no different because it's difficult to ask someone to come off the bench and try to do something exceptional.
"We have a big squad at St Mirren, so it's all about biding your time and waiting for your chance - and then taking it.
"I'll have to wait to see who the manager picks for the Hamilton game but I'm fit and I'm ready."
