St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson was full of praise for his players after they secured a 1-0 Scottish Cup fifth round replay win at Dundee United.
An Andy Dorman goal early in the second half proved decisive at Tannadice and MacPherson felt his side's win was well deserved.
He said: "We should have made it slightly easier for ourselves, but we played some really good stuff at times and created chances against a team that is sitting third in the SPL.
"To come to Tannadice and create so many chances, especially in the opening half-hour, is a credit to the players."
The Buddies also had to make do without first-choice goalkeeper Chris Smith, who missed the game due to illness, with Mark Howard stepping in and impressing with a number of fine saves.
