Buddies bring in Cuthbert

St Mirren have secured the signing of Celtic defender Scott Cuthbert on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old has struggled for first-team action with the Bhoys and has yet to make his senior debut for the club, despite being a Scotland Under-21 international.

Buddies boss Gus MacPherson commented: "I'm delighted to get Scott in because it's one we've been trying for for a while.

"Losing Will Haining to suspension and Marc McAusland to injury meant we had to do something.

"He's trained with us this morning and settled in okay. We've been looking for another defender for some time now.

"I think that's my squad complete though, because when everyone is fit we've got really good competition for places."
