Miller eyes top six
St Johnstone defender Gary Miller is looking to use their derby win at Tannadice as a springboard for the final stages of their top-six push.
Saints moved four points ahead of seventh-placed Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership with a 1-0 triumph at Dundee United on Wednesday night.
The home side had been on a five-match winning run culminating in a 5-0 cup triumph at Inverness so Miller feels the three points can give them a real boost ahead of Saturday's visit of Ross County.
Saints have a game in hand over Hibs, who visit McDiarmid Park the following weekend, and two home wins in a row would seal a top-six spot.
Miller said: "With Dundee United's result at the weekend, they were on a high, most teams would have been happy to go there and get a point. So to get the win means we can look on and hopefully string a few results together.
"When they came to McDiarmid we beat them 3-0 so we knew we were capable of it. We have good attacking quality as well so we know if we play well and keep a clean sheet, we will create chances
"There are only five games to the split so we'll be pushing to get as many points as we can."
Brian Easton has added to St Johnstone's defensive selection problems.
The left-back joins Frazer Wright and Tam Scobbie (both ankle) on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury during the midweek win.
Midfielder Murray Davidson (knee) remains on the sidelines but striker Steven MacLean returns from suspension.
County have lost five players ahead of the clash at McDiarmid Park.
Alex Cooper and Graham Carey are suspended while Marc Klok, Stuart Kettlewell and Darren Maatsen are injured.
Goalkeeper Michael Fraser could miss out again following an appendix operation.
