Sheerin stays with Saints for SPL

St Johnstone midfielder Paul Sheerin has signed a new contract with the Perth club after their promotion to the Scottish Premier League. The 34-year-old has agreed a new one-year deal and follows defenders Graham Gartland and Kevin Rutkiewicz in committing himself to Saints. Talks are still being held with veteran goalkeeper Alan Main and defender Gary Irvine about new contracts. Striker Derek Holmes rejected a new deal to join Queen of the South.
