Samuel staying with Saints

Striker Collin Samuel has signed a new one-year contract to remain with St Johnstone next season.

The 28-year-old Trinidad & Tobago international has been with the Saints since the summer of 2008 and has scored 15 goals in 60 games for Derek McInnes' side.

McInnes told the club's official website: "I'm delighted we have managed to get Sammy sorted out so quickly.

"He and I have been disappointed and frustrated by the injury problems he has had, but we are confident those are behind him now - in many ways the season has come to an end just at the wrong time for him.

"However, we know what he is capable of and saw glimpses of it in the season just ended - a fully-fit Sammy has the pace and power and the ability to score goals at SPL level."
