Saints to fight for Hardie
24 Nov 2009 - 12:01:27
St Johnstone midfielder Martin Hardie has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in a bounce game against Falkirk last week.
The 33-year-old suffered medial and cruciate ligament damage against the Bairns and will not feature again this term for the newly-promoted Saints.
Boss Derek McInnes told The Courier: "Martin has not only ruptured his medial ligament, he has ruptured his cruciate too.
"We just need to try and make sure that when he does come back fit we are still an SPL team."
Hardie's team-mate, Liam Craig, added: "Martin is a great big lad and is as honest as they come.
"I have heard his season is over, but hopefully we can remain a Premier League club so that when he comes back he will still be a Premier League player. That is what he deserves."
