Morris troubled by injuries

St Johnstone midfielder Jody Morris has admitted that he is having to nurse an abdominal injury to avoid the need for surgery until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has made just one appearance in the last month and admits that he is finding it tough to keep going.

He told the Dundee Courier: "I played on for about six weeks with a tear just above my pubis bone, but it was getting worse and worse, so I needed to rest and get a bundle of injections to settle it down.

"However, it hasn't cleared up and I think it's something I'm just going to have to try to manage through to the summer.

"What happens then I don't know. Whether I might need surgery we'll have to see. I'm still sore, but I may have to come up with a regime which sees me play but miss training days."
