Morris earns McInnes praise

St Johnstone boss Derek McInnes has praised midfielder Jody Morris for the way that he has rebuilt his career north of the border.

The former Chelsea man was on target in the 3-1 win at Hibernian in the third round of the Co-operative Insurance Cup, having joined the Saints in March 2008.

McInnes said: "He'd lost his way for a couple of years and his reputation went before him.

"I'd seen the dedication in him - he was a top professional. I like people who work hard and he trains right every day.

"He's still for me got three or four of his best years ahead of him. He's only 30 years old and there's nobody fitter than him.

"He might not have the pace but he's got the intelligence."
