Morais opts to exit Saints

St Johnstone winger Filipe Morais is set to leave the SPL club after rejecting the offer of a new contract at McDiarmid Park.

The 24-year-old is set for a return to England, having moved to Scotland in January 2007 after spells with Millwall and MK Dons.

Saints manager Derek McInnes told the Perth Advertiser: "We made Filipe an offer but he expressed a desire to go back to England.

"As far as we're aware, he's looking for a club nearer London. I've not heard from his agent so, as far as I'm concerned, we move on now.

"Players move on, that's just part of football. Filipe gave us a wee spark, a little bit of something different, but we'll look elsewhere for that now."
