Millar extends Saints stay

St Johnstone midfielder Chris Millar has signed a new two-year contract extension with the SPL club.

The 26-year-old joined the Saints from Morton in the summer of 2008 and has since scored five times in 54 games for Derek McInnes' men.

The manager told the Dundee Courier: "I think Chris has done really well for us.

"He was hungry to come here in the first place and has settled down to being a St Johnstone player.

"Chris played a large part in getting us to the SPL and hopefully he'll play a large part in our staying there and beyond.

"He's possibly under-rated in some quarters, but people within the club really appreciate the job he does for us.

"I love his approach to training and he rarely lets us down on matchday."
