MacDonald returns in style

St Johnstone striker Peter MacDonald earned high praise from manager Derek McInnes after announcing his return to full fitness with a hat-trick in the 3-1 win at Motherwell.
The 29-year-old only recently overcome long-term injury problems to return to the Saints' fold, but quickly showed what they had been missing with a superb display at Fir Park on Boxing Day.
McInnes said after the victory: "He's deserving because he has worked hard.
"He is getting his match fitness up, but in terms of his body shape and general fitness and appetite to get himself in a condition to play after all his injuries, that's why he deserves the credit.
"Hopefully that serves him well because the knack of goalscoring doesn't go away from you. He is a fantastic boy to have about the dressing room.
"Hopefully he'll enjoy that and it will make him hungry for that again."
