Heartbreak for unlucky Davidson

St Johnstone midfielder Murray Davidson has been forced to drop out of the Scotland Under-21 squad after picking up a groin strain.

Only hours after being included in Billy Stark's squad for the trip to Azerbaijan, Saints boss Derek McInnes confirmed the bad news.

He said: "We really feel for Murray. Azerbaijan might not be glamorous but Murray would play anywhere to get that first cap.

"We had no choice. It was disappointing but his time will come."

Meanwhile, Graham Gartland faces three weeks out of action after damaging a shoulder, with McInnes adding: "It looks worse than we'd hoped and he'll definitely miss the Hearts game."
