Teale to keep tearing them apart

Gary Teale has signed a new contract that will keep him at Saints next season - and he could be a Buddie for even longer.

The former Scotland cap has agreed a one year extension and will get another year if he plays a certain number of games. That's similar to Steven Thompson's new deal and the contract David van Zanten got last summer.

I'll be honest and say that this time last year I'd have been quite happy if the rumours linking Teale with Rangers were true as he was a high earner and hadn't been particularly good. This season he's been a completely different player, laying on the equaliser in the League Cup Final and recording plenty of assists for Thompson.

Saints boss Danny Lennon is also due to have further contract talks with Paul McGowan and Craig Samson this week. McGowan has repeatedly been linked with a move south, while Motherwell and St Johnstone are supposedly sniffing around Samson.
