Naismith out for St Mirren

St Mirren will be without defender Jason Naismith (knee) when they take on visitors Livingston in the Scottish League Cup.

The Saints are also without Luke Conlan after they opted against appealing his dismissal in Friday night's goalless draw with Morton.

Manager Ian Murray said: "We are a better side than the one point out of nine would indicate, however we need to show that by winning games. Having battled for a point at Morton on Friday night I am not planning too many changes.

"Livingston had a great result in the Petrofac Cup last week at Queen of the South and that is a real warning to us in terms of going about our jobs properly."

Livingston travel to Paisley without Scott Pittman (ankle) and Moses Duckrell who is still troubled by a hamstring problem.

Manager Mark Burchill is looking for a big improvement after Saturday's 2-1 defeat from Falkirk as he explained: "It was disappointing at the weekend as the performance was really low key compared to the high intensity one we put in down at Queen of the South last Tuesday.

"We won that game as our tempo was high and we lost on Saturday as the tempo was not good.

"To do anything at St Mirren we need everyone at the top of their game."
