Saints duo return as boss Murray targets back-to-back wins

St Mirren pair Luke Conlan and Lawrence Shankland are back in contention for the home game against Falkirk but Jason Naismith and Stuart Carswell are still out.

Conlan and Shankland have been on under-21 international duty for Northern Ireland and Scotland respectively, while Naismith (knee) and Carswell (shoulder) are not ready for action. Alan Gow is doubtful for the visit of one of his former clubs.

Saints boss Ian Murray said: "We enjoyed a great win at Queen of the South last weekend and it would be good to build on that with a win over a Falkirk side that is full of good experienced players.

"A win would lift us closer to the clubs in the play-off zone and that would be a good boost."

Falkirk striker Bob McHugh is back in training and has been added to manager Peter Houston's squad, but a knee injury continues to rule out Kieran Duffie.

Houston said: "This will be a tough game as St Mirren were a Premiership club until a few months ago.

"It would be a terrific game to get a result in as it would show how much we want to be involved in the mix at the top of that table.

"They will have taken confidence from winning last weekend while we were idle, so it will be a very tricky afternoon if we do not go about things correctly."
