Ridgers to keep gloves for Saints

St Mirren's new signing Jamie Langfield will have to be content with a place on the bench against Dumbarton.

Saints manager Ian Murray will keep Mark Ridgers between the sticks after a fine display in the 3-1 defeat to Rangers.

Everyone in the Paisley squad is fit and available as Murray faces his former club for the first time, but he does not recognise many of the players his side will face.

Murray said: "It does not feel like a game against a former side as there are a lot of new players in their squad. The important thing is that we are at home and are out to win."

Dumbarton will arrive with a full squad as Darren Barr is available again after a knee injury.

The Sons are in good spirits after their 2-1 win over Hibs last weekend with manager Stephen Aitken saying: "We showed last week that we can compete against full time sides expected to go for promotion.

"We have another chance to show that now and if we can take something from this game then it really will have been a terrific start to the season.

"I watched St Mirren at Rangers and I would reckon that this will be a different type of game as they will be the side expected to attack."
