Lennon demands home success
Danny Lennon insists his struggling St Mirren side will not settle for anything less than a win against high-flying Aberdeen.
The last meeting between the two sides at St Mirren Park ended in a 1-1 draw in September when the visitors grabbed a late equaliser.
The Dons now prepare to travel to Paisley on the back of impressive form, which has seen them book their place in the League Cup final, dump Celtic out of the William Hill Scottish Cup and sit second in the Scottish Premiership.
In contrast, Saints are just two points off the relegation play-off zone but Lennon has faith in his players' ability to burst Aberdeen's bubble.
He said: "It's our home game and, like every game, we want to get as many points as we can. We want to stop losing games, there is no doubt about that.
"I believe January was good to us in terms of working hard and strengthening the squad.
"The lads have already had a positive run of results before this season and I certainly believe they have the character and ability to do it again."
Lennon felt the draw with Aberdeen sparked that spell of positive results and he is hoping for a similar response from his players this time.
He added: "That game was the catalyst for us beginning the fine form.
"We've got to remember the energy, the determination and the character we brought in that game. If we can bring that again, hopefully it can kick-start another positive run."
St Mirren will be without Marc McAusland and Josh Magennis.
McAusland is suspended while loan signing Magennis is unable to play against his parent club.
However, the Buddies are boosted by the return of John McGinn and Gregg Wylde, who missed last week's Scottish Cup exit to Dundee United through suspension and being cup-tied respectively.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes expects to have an unchanged squad, with Clark Robertson (knee) and Ryan Jack (hip) remaining on the sidelines.

The right-back started during Aberdeen's 4-0 League Cup semi-final win against St Johnstone two days after joining on loan from Brentford before helping the Dons beat Celtic seven days later.
The 26-year-old, who makes his Scottish Premiership debut at St Mirren Park, said: "It's been a good start. Two games, two wins, a cup final reached and knocking Celtic out of the cup is a very good way to start my Aberdeen career.
"I didn't know what to expect really. I'd say I've been surprised with what I've seen so far - and it's been a good surprise to be honest. Playing with the boys in training, I can see why they got the results we have.
"With being here two weeks, it's not really kicked in, but I spoke to a few fans and they have left me messages, and what it means to them is beyond words.
"It's been such a long time since they have won anything it would mean the world to them just to win one cup this season."
