Derek Lyle inspires Queen of the South to victory over St Mirren
Derek Lyle scored twice and set up another to inspire Queen of the South to a 3-1 win at St Mirren in the Ladbrokes Championship.
Lyle fired home the opener after 12 minutes and then made it 2-1 in the 43rd minute with a low finish from close range, two minutes after Tom Walsh had crashed home the equaliser.
Lyle then turned provider 10 minutes into the second half, setting up Stephen Dobbie to slide a left-footed shot into the bottom corner.
A two-goal deficit was too much for the hosts to come back from as Queen of the South made it four wins from five league games this season to move up to second, their opponents dropping to the foot of the table.
