Sammy set for Killie

Saints goalie Craig Samson looks set to be playing for Kilmarnock next season after reportedly agreeing a three year contract with the Rugby Park side.

Samson had been expected to join Motherwell when his contract expires in the summer, a move that made a lot of sense. They finished second this season and will be playing in Europe, while he'd pretty much be the number one goalie with Darren Randolph signing for Birmingham.

Instead, it seems he's going to end up at Killie, where he started his career. Yes, they are losing Cammy Bell and their other two goalies, but they have already signed Inverness Caley Thistle's Antonio Reguero so Samson's not guaranteed first team football. They don't have European football either, but it seems more money and a three year deal has swung things for Sammy.

Ironically, his final game for the Buddies will be at Rugby Park on Saturday. If he does sign for Killie they'll have two reasonably well paid goalies on their books - but I bet it doesn't stop manager Kenny Shiels whining about a lack of money during the summer.
