One McGinn leaves, could another return?

As Paul McGinn turns down the offer of a new contract at Saints, there is the possibility that brother Stephen could be a Buddie once again next season.

Paul arrived at Saints earlier in the season after leaving Queen's Park. He was loaned back to the Spiders to get himself fit after injury and they were the only club who could sign him as he was still classed as an amateur. He was then loaned to first division Dumbarton and impressed their fans with a number of fine displays.

His brother John scored his first Saints goal on Saturday revealed after the game that Paul was being released. Paul, who plays in defence, then said on Twitter he had turned down a new deal as he wanted to be playing regularly. This is probably a good move on his part as he's better playing every week in the first division than being a squad player in the SPL.

John also said after the game at Kilmarnock that his brother Stephen may well be willing to return to the club. The older of the three brothers left for Watford in 2010 before suffering injury problems. After a loan spell at Shrewsbury this season he was released and watched Saints on Saturday. While he'd be a decent signing, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him stay down south - and there's been no news of any Saints interest anyway!
