No bid for McLean

It seems that Kenny McLean won't be leaving Saints tonight after all, with chief executive Brian Caldwell saying there have been no bids for the midfielder.

It emerged earlier today that an unnamed Championship side had apparently made a verbal offer for the 21-year-old, who was expected to move on this month. However, it seems that's not the case.

Caldwell is quoted on the BBC website's coverage of transfer deadline day as saying: "We have not had a written or verbal offer for the player. In fact, we have not taken a single call about his availability."

While surprising to hear no one has been sniffing around, it's welcome news to Saints fans. With three hours left until the window closes it's extremely unlikely that he - or anyone else - will be moving on before the summer.
