McLean sidelined by knee op

Kenny McLean won't play for Saints again before the winter break after it was revealed he will need a minor operation on his knee.

The midfielder played in Friday night's win over Motherwell but missed yesterday's draw in Inverness while he waited on the results of a scan. That has revealed he needs a small operation and he'll be sidelined for a few weeks.

While this isn't good news there are worse times for it to happen as after Wednesday's game against Kilmarnock we're into the winter break. There is the outside chance that he could have played his last game for the club as by the time he's fit he could have been sold, with Sky Sports claiming Nottingham Forest and Ipswich are supposedly interested in him.
