McGinn's Scotland knocked out

John McGinn's time representing Scotland in the European Under-19 Championship elite round this week wasn't a happy one as they managed just one point from their three games.

The Saints midfielder started the first game last Friday, a creditable 2-2 draw with Belgium. He was then an unused sub in Sunday's game against Georgia, the Scots somehow managing to lose 3-1 to nine men. Admittedly, Buddies are the last people that can have a go at someone for not making a two goal advantage count!

It meant victory in last night's game against England was a must if the young Scots were to make it any further in the tournament. Sadly, despite McGinn starting, they lost 3-0 and returned home today.

While the results were far from ideal, it's still great for us to have a player involved in these games and should benefit both the player and the club.
