McGinn plays for Scotland

John McGinn made his debut for Scotland's under-19 side last night as they lost to Holland in a friendly.

The midfielder was a late addition to the squad, having strangely been overlooked when it was first named, but started the match in Veenendaal.

The teenager almost marked his debut with a goal, seeing a shot blocked before the young Scots lost 2-1.

Despite the defeat it will still have been a good experience for John and hopefully the first of many Scotland caps for him at a variety of age groups.
