Irish teenager joins Saints

Former Hull City player Kealan Dillon has signed for Saints. The 19-year-has played numerous times for the Republic of Ireland at various youth levels.

There are conflicting reports about what position Dillon plays, some websites saying he's a striker while others say he's a forward. Saints boss Danny Lennon says he's a midfielder and is someone he's had a look at a few times.

Although not initially signed for the first team, it seems Dillon isn't too far away from the level required to play in the SPL and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him make up the numbers for the under-21 rule next season (if that still exists!).

Meanwhile, it seems young striker Jack Smith has left the club. The forward was offered a new deal following the end of last season and reportedly turned it down - something which seems to be correct as he's now on trial with Kilmarnock.
