Ipswich friendly ditched

A friendly between Saints and Ipswich which had been planned for the upcoming pre-season has now been binned.

It emerged recently the Championship side were due to visit Scotland during the summer and were interested in coming to Paisley for a game. The managers of the respective sides even admitted as much, but Ipswich have now pulled out of the fixture.

It had been rumoured the game was part of a transfer deal that would take Saints midfielder Kenny McLean to Mick McCarthy's side. With the game now not happening, does that mean the transfer has fallen through? Of course, that assumes it was happening in the first place and not just people putting two and two together and getting 28!

The game being off means we'll no doubt be treated to our usual exciting summer schedule of games against Dumbarton, Ayr and Morton - although our pre-season training camp in Spain will see us face Charlton.
