Guy training with Carlisle

Lewis Guy could be set for a move to Carlisle United after joining the Cumbrians for pre-season training this morning.

The striker is believed to be on the way out of Saints following a bust-up with assistant manager Tommy Craig in the penultimate game of last season. He joined Saints for the start of pre-season training yesterday before ending up at Carlisle today.

Unless we're being kind and letting Guy do pre-season with his local club - he is from Cumbria after all - it would seem this is being done with a view to him signing permanently for Carlisle. It's unlikely we'd be after a transfer fee and are instead just looking to get him off our wage bill.

Meanwhile, Dougie Imrie joined Morton for pre-season this week following his release from Saints a few weeks ago. If he signs for the Greenock side it'll certainly make the Renfrewshire Cup interesting!

Finally, Stephen McGinn won't be returning to Saints after joining Sheffield United this week. The midfielder was linked with a move back to Paisley following his release by Watford but has instead decided to stay down south.
