Fraser to make his Marc-us?

05 December 2012 11:31
Young Celtic defender Marcus Fraser could join Saints on loan in the New Year as manager Danny Lennon looks to bolster his backline.

The 18-year-old has played just once for the Celtic first team although has been a regular for Scotland at just about every age group going, including the under-21s. Meanwhile, we are rather light in the centre of defence with Darren McGregor injured, Marc McAusland closing in on a suspension and Lee Mair banned for next week's trip to Parkhead.

Celtic are obviously looking to get Fraser some first team experience, something that has worked well for us in the past when we borrowed the likes of Scott Cuthbert, Graham Carey and Paul McGowan. However, they all had a bit of first team experience from previous loan spells, while Fraser has just 45 minutes gained from a sub appearance last year.

If the teenager did sign he would be unavailable for any games against Celtic, including next month's League Cup semi-final at Hampden.
