Dummett hoping to resume Saints career

07 January 2013 18:44
He may have made his Newcastle United debut on Saturday but Paul Dummett is keen to spend the rest of the season on loan at Saints.

The defender, whose loan spell with the Buddies ended last week, was a half-time substitute when Newcastle lost to Brighton in the FA Cup on Saturday. That seemed to suggest he was now in the first team plans of Magpies boss Alan Pardew, but the Welsh under-21 international has revealed he wants to return to Paisley for the remainder of the campaign.

This is good news as Saints boss Danny Lennon also wants the leftback to be part of his squad once again, so the only people standing in the way are Newcastle. Hopefully, they sign a few defenders in the next week or so and we can have him back!

Meanwhile, another former Saints leftback could be set for a return to Scotland. Jure Travner, who spent the 2010/11 season in Paisley, has recently begun training with Dundee United in  abid to win a deal at Tannadice.
