Cornell and Dilo sign

Saints have solved the rather worrying lack of first team goalies by bringing in Swansea's David Cornell and Blackburn's Christopher Dilo.

It's not a surprise to see them come in. Cornell's arrival on loan has been rumoured for a while, while Dilo's name emerged last week after Saints boss Danny Lennon revealed he hoped to unveil two goalies today.

Cornell will spend the season on loan from Swansea, having previously been loaned out to Port Talbot and Hereford. He seems to be a good prospect and, having represented Wales at under-21 level, is likely to start the season as first choice.

Dilo was let go by Blackburn at the end of last season and his only first team experience comes from a few loan spells with non-league outfit Hyde. He has represented France at youth level so obviously has some potential, which makes signing him for just a season a bit odd.

It's good to finally get the goalkeeping issue resolved, but it is slightly worrying our new goalies are both rather young and lacking in first team experience. Let's hope that doesn't cause us any problems in the season ahead.
