Ibrahim: I'm alive and kicking
Rabiu Ibrahim has urged Kilmarnock boss Allan Johnston to give him some game time this weekend so friends and family in his native Nigeria know he is "still alive" after a recent health scare.
The midfielder, 22, has been out of action since collapsing during the 2-0 Scottish Premiership win over Ross County on October 19.
But, following a series of hospital tests, he has been given the green light to resume playing again, as Kilmarnock prepare to travel to St Johnstone on Saturday.
Ibrahim said: "It depends on the manager but if I can have five or 10 minutes of the game, it will make people back home know that I'm fine, that there is no problem and I am still alive and I am still playing.
"I would appreciate that. My family have been a little bit worried even though we speak on the phone.
"Maybe they thought I was just trying to make them feel okay."
Reflecting on his collapse, Ibrahim said: "In the game, I felt like I had a slight headache.
"I remember sitting down before lying down. The official said he was speaking to me and I didn't reply.
"Afterwards, they asked me some questions and I answered some of them. I had some tests and everything was okay. They couldn't find anything.
"I had an MRI scan and a machine they put on me for 24 hours and it was all okay. The doctor called me on Wednesday and told me everything was okay and I could go back to training.
"It's a relief. I feel very happy and excited. To be back in the team and to see the players was a very good feeling for me."
Despite the scare, Ibrahim insists he never feared his playing career was over.
He said: "I wasn't worried because I knew nothing was wrong with me. It just happened. I was okay before the game.
"I wasn't ill or anything and I don't know why it happened. But I wasn't worried. I was just waiting for the results and I knew the results would be in my favour.
"I've been okay since then and I wanted to train but I had to wait for the doctors. They are doing their jobs and they have to be sure. They are just being careful so that it doesn't happen again. I'm glad that everything is fine now."
He added: "I just want to say a very big thank you to the supporters, the coaches and the players.
"I had a lot of messages from the fans and the team and I really appreciate that."
Ibrahim is keen to see Kilmarnock return to winning ways at McDiarmid Park on Saturday after suffering defeat to Inverness last weekend.
He said: "We are looking for nothing less than three points. We will go all out for a win.
"The players have been training hard and three points would be good on Saturday."
St Johnstone defender Frazer Wright misses the match as he serves the final match of his three-game ban.
Striker Rory Fallon is also absent as he headed away on international duty for New Zealand on Friday evening.
Steven MacLean (knee) and Steven Anderson (thumb) remain out long-term.
