Mannus could return for Saints

Alan Mannus could return in goal for St Johnstone in their Scottish Premiership clash with Hibernian at McDiarmid Park on Saturday.

The Northern Irishman is back in full training after recovering from a shoulder injury which has kept him out for over a month.

Midfielder David Robertson may also be back in contention after playing for the Under-20s in midweek, following his recovery from a broken leg.

Manager Tommy Wright is looking for his side to build on the away point picked up at Aberdeen before the break.

He said: "You always look forward to the break but it seems like an eternity since we last played a game.

"It was important to bounce back after the defeat by Dundee United, if you lose the game at Aberdeen it is compounded by the fact that you have a long wait and you don't have a game quickly to get it out of your system.

"Let's say that we went into the break with huge smiles on our faces."

Hibernian boss Pat Fenlon has suffered two more injury setbacks after defender Ryan McGivern (knee) and midfielder Danny Handling (foot) were ruled out.

Fenlon is already without midfielders Alex Harris and Paul Cairney (both ankle), while the match at McDiarmid Park has come too soon for defenders James McPake (back) and Tim Clancy (groin), who are at least nearing a return to fitness.

However, Scotland midfielder Kevin Thomson does return to the Hibs squad after serving a two-match ban.
