Vagner Love saved Monaco's Valentine's Day as they came from behind at St Etienne to snatch a vital point in the race for the Ligue 1 runners-up spot.

The home side, who trail second-placed Monaco by six points, had taken a 57th-minute lead through Moustapha Bayal Sall's strike, but Love levelled with just six minutes remaining to ensure the spoils were shared. It was January signing Love's first goal for the club.

Lyon maintained their pursuit of the pacesetters with a 4-1 demolition of Caen at the Stade des Lumieres.

The hosts led 3-0 at the break through efforts from Samuel Umtiti, Alexandre Lacazette and Maxwell Cornet, and although Andy Delort's 58th-minute goal gave the visitors a glimmer of hope, Corentin Tolisso extinguished it for good seven minutes from time.

Nice remain in the hunt for a top-four finish after their 1-1 home draw with Marseille, although they had keeper Yoan Cardinale and the woodwork to thank for their point.

The visitors took a ninth-minute lead when Mauricio Isla headed home from Romain Alessandrini's cross, and they remained in front until Valere Germain levelled after 58 minutes with Vincent Koziello the provider.

The visitors went close to a winner twice within seconds when Georges-Kevin Nkoudou saw his 71st-minute header saved by Cardinale before Michy Batshuayi headed against the post, but Nice survived.
