The vice-chairman of Sparta Prague, Lukas Pribyl, was found dead Thursday at his club office, Prague police said.

"Police obtained information around 4 p.m. (1500 GMT) that the body of a 33-year-old man had been discovered," police spokesman Tomas Hulan told AFP, adding that the cause of death was not immediately known and that an autposy would follow.

The Dnes newspaper indicated that Pribyl had been suffering from respiratory problems.

Pravo daily meanwhile quoted a source as saying police had found bruising to the neck.

A former television journalist Pribyl was considered the right-hand man of chairman Daniel Kretinsky.
